The product though cheaper than competition, not a good buy.
The batter drips below through the holes and causes leaks in the boiling water below.
It is good only as a steamer but useless for making idlis. Unless you make the batter thick and less watery, the batter will drip through holes and flat idlis are made.

These did feel a bit costly at purchase, but they have been nothing but blissful since day one. I learned to make idlis after I purchased these, mostly from Youtube and asking my relatives about their unique tips and tricks. These are nothing special, but they excel at doing what they are designed to do, steam stuff. As a plus, you also get a decent boiling pot, which can also be used as a separate cooking pot. This makes this purchase of not one, but two separate utensils, complete with a glass lid. I cannot count how many times I have prepared idli for myself and for my dad, who also likes this thing a lot. No complains, its a robust addition to any kitchen. Go for it without any second thoughts.

First the compliments: the 2 pots and lid are beautifully designed and made. As a steamer it’s super.
Now the cons: the idli plates are made of thin steel and makes small idlis. The 3 plates are connected with a shaft which is attached to the bottom plate with a nut and bolt. It doesn’t get tight so the shaft keeps wagging. There’s a good chance your maid may lose the nut or the heat proof knob that secures the stack. The space between the plates is not enough

Product is good but have doubt on the quality. After using for 2 times, i can observe some dots on the inner side of the kadai. Feels like the steel quality is not upto the mark. But it is ok for the price i got
