Wanted to replace an aluminum cooker. Initially was going for a regular Stainless steel material. But when i stumbled across this Triply Stainless steel, wanted to check what the deal about this Triply is. My initial reaction upon receiving the item and holding on hands is that it is very sturdy and heavy. Even the lid is very strong than any other stainless steel lids. The cooker itself is shiny inside out. The design of the whistle weight looks modern with a durable plastic covering. Prestige claims it is cool to touch even during cooking which i don’t think so. The whistle weight still gets hot, may be just not as hot as a normal weight gets though. The sound of the whistle pressure release is much muffled in this cooker. I should say i liked the new muffled whistle better. The cooking of rice is just as good as the other name brand cookers. Another thing i liked about this product is the less sticking of cooked rice on the triply when compared to strong sticking in an aluminum vessel. And one surprising thing is the tightness felt while closing the lid. Initially the lid closing was smooth but over a couple weeks usage, it has become slightly tighter to close or open. I hope it gets better over time. Even with that minor niggle, I liked this purchase greatly. It will be a great addition to the kitchen. Giving it a thumbs up!!
